Villarreal rejects Altidore loan offer

Villarreal, Spain (Sports Network) - Villarreal are reported to have rejected a loan offer from Everton for teenage striker Jozy Altidore.

The 19-year-old American has yet to break into the first-team picture at El Madrigal as he is behind the likes of Giuseppe Rossi, Nihat Kahveci, Guillermo Franco and Joseba Llorente in the pecking order.

He has made just a handful of appearances for the Yellow Submarine since arriving from the New York Red Bulls last summer.

However, Villarreal president Fernando Roig has rejected an approach from the Premier League side to sign Altidore on loan until the end of the season.
