Paris, France (Sports Network) - Mateja Kezman recently returned from a four- month loan stay at Zenit St. Petersburg, and although it was widely rumored that he would leave Paris in the January transfer window, the 30-year-old striker feels as though his work at PSG is not yet done.
"I knew when I came back that I wasn't going to leave again; it's not the right time to move on," he told Le Parisien. "I've said it a million times but I'll say it again: I love PSG. I want to prove that my Parisian adventure isn't over. I have a year and a half left on my contract to do that."
Kezman was used primarily as a substitute under manager Paul Le Guen last season, when he scored three goals in 21 appearances, with 15 coming as a sub.
However, he is hopeful that new boss Antoine Kombouare will give him a chance to contribute, whether it is off the bench or as a starter.
"I'm working hard and we'll see what the future holds," Kezman said. "Right now the club needs everyone, so if I can help, then I'm ready. I've got my confidence back and I think I can add something to the mix. It all depends on the coach."
"He has always said to me that if I chose to stay and if I prove myself in training, I'll have my chance. I'm prepared to play just a few minutes. I'm ready."
Kezman scored two goals in 10 appearances for Zenit during his loan spell, but the Paris club can use any help it can get at the moment, with the team mired in a three-game losing skid that has dropped them to 14th in the Ligue 1 table.
The club is 10 points from a place in Europe at the moment, and they will hope to spark a turnaround with a win over Lorient on Saturday.
Lorient is in the midst of a rough patch itself, losing four of its last six games to fall to ninth place.
Leaders Bordeaux travel to Rennes with a six-point lead on second-placed Montpellier, who will face second-from-the-bottom Boulogne.
Lille is third and visits Nice, while Lyon is one point from a spot in the top three and travels to Toulouse.
Last-placed Grenoble hosts Auxerre, Le Mans visits Lens, Sochaux plays host to Nancy, St Etienne entertains Monaco and Valenciennes visits a Marseille side that has won only one of its last five games in the league.
