Boulogne, France (Sports Network) - Two of the bottom three teams in Ligue 1 square off at the Stade de la Liberation on Saturday as 19th-placed Boulogne hosts 18th-placed Le Mans.
Both sides enter the match knowing that a loss could all but put an end to their hopes of remaining in the top flight, and Boulogne striker Matt Moussilou believes that sense of desperation will only help his team.
"It's probably the match that will determine the rest of our season," he told the club's official website. "If we win it would relaunch us in the competition, that's for sure.
"We could also close the gap on teams who are just above us. We have to really believe in it because everything is still open in this Ligue 1 campaign.
"Give everything, that's the catchword."
Boulogne manager Laurent Guyot will need his team to give everything, as the club sits seven points from safety and one point back of Le Mans entering the weekend.
The home side is in the midst of a nine-game winless streak in the league, but they could be boosted by the return of captain Gregory Thil, who has missed the past five months with an ankle injury.
Habib Bellaid could also contend for a spot in the team, but Guyot will be without Olivier Kapo and Nicolas Rabuel, while Jeremy Blayac is also unlikely to play.
Le Mans has earned only one point from its last five games, but they must improve on their dreadful away form if they want to stay up this season.
Manager Arnaud Cormier has seen his team lose all 11 of its games away from home, and they will be without captain Frederic Thomas as well as Fredrik Stromstad, Guillaume Loriot and Cyriaque Louvion because of injury.
Ligue 1 leaders Bordeaux had their match with Auxerre postponed this weekend to give the club extra time to prepare for their Champions League first-leg match at Olympiacos on Tuesday.
This will give second-placed Montpellier a chance to move level on 51 points with the leaders if they can beat St Etienne, while third-placed Lille tries to keep pace when they travel to Rennes on Sunday.
Lyon enjoyed a 1-0 defeat of Real Madrid in the Champions League midweek and they return to the league to visit Sochaux, Marseille hosts Nancy and Toulouse hits the road to face PSG.
Nice is six points above the bottom three and they entertain Lorient, Monaco invades Lens and last-placed Grenoble plays host to Valenciennes.
