Stuttgart's Gomez considering options

Stuttgart, Germany (Sports Network) - Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez admitted on Friday he is keen to play in one of Europe's other top leagues.

The 23-year-old Germany international was the subject of a failed approach from Manchester City on transfer deadline day, but the interest has whetted his appetite for a move away from the Bundesliga in the not too distant future.

"The offer from Manchester City will certainly not be the last one I receive," he said. "My aim is to play for a top club in Europe, somewhere like Italy, England or Spain.

"I have a contract with VfB and the club has told me quite clearly that they will not let me leave this season. Not for any money in the world.

"I have no problem playing in Stuttgart. VfB is one of the best run clubs in Germany and I enjoy playing in Stuttgart."
