Wolfsburg closing in on Ziani

Wolfsburg, Germany (Sports Network) - Algeria international Karim Ziani is being linked with a transfer to last term's Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg.

The 26-year-old has spent the last two seasons with Marseille, but his father and manager, Rabah Ziani, has hinted that he will be playing in Germany next season.

He told Le Buteur: "It's true that everything has been settled between the two clubs.

"An agreement has been found with Marseille, but as long as Karim hasn't signed we can't say that he's a Wolfsburg player. It will happen this week, God willing, and I'll be there for the signing of the contract.

"It's the moment for Karim to play abroad and to go through another phase.

"He's followed the logical progression of an ambitious player from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1 with Sochaux to then play for one of the best teams in Ligue 1.

"Today he has a chance to play abroad and he didn't want to miss it."
