London, England (Sports Network) - Chelsea are set to appeal the Champions League bans handed down to Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa by UEFA.
Drogba was banned for four games and handed a further two-match suspended punishment after his angry reaction to Chelsea's semifinal exit at the hands of Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Bosingwa was banned for three games for his post-match outburst, having referred to the match official as a cheat before later retracting his comments.
Chelsea have now confirmed that they are set to appeal the bans and also the $140,000 fine they were handed for the improper conduct of players and fans.
Speaking on Friday, captain John Terry claimed the bans handed down by UEFA were excessive.
"What happened with Didier and the comments made after the game took the hype away from the referee a little bit," the Blues and England skipper told talkSPORT.
"It was a very bad performance from him (Ovrebo), we all realized that. There were three or four clear penalty decisions that we should have had that night and that's something as a fan and as a player you will never forget. It was disappointing."
