Lausanne, Switzerland (Sports Network) - Franck Ribery will definitely miss Bayern Munich's Champions League final against Inter Milan after failing to overturn a suspension at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The France winger was hoping the court would overrule UEFA's disciplinary body, which handed down a three-match ban following his red card in the first leg of last month's semifinal against Lyon.
Ribery was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Lyon's Lisandro Lopez which UEFA deemed was worthy of a three-match ban for violent conduct.
Bayern had failed in a previous appeal to UEFA before taking the matter to CAS and Ribery will now definitely miss Saturday's final at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"The CAS panel has dismissed the appeal and confirmed the three-game suspension imposed by the UEFA appeals body on the Bayern Munich player Franck Ribery," confirmed a statement from the Lausanne-based court.
"Accordingly, the player will not be eligible to play in the final of the 2010 Champions League."
