Simplicio confident of new Palermo deal

Palermo, Italy (Sports Network) - Palermo midfielder Fabio Simplicio is confident that a new contract can be agreed between himself and the club in the coming weeks.

The 30-year-old received his first call-up to the Brazilian national team for the game against England at the weekend.

He was an unused substitute in the 1-0 success in Qatar but he is hoping a new deal can be struck to prolong his stay at the Sicily-based club.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "We'll see about the renewal, but maybe it will come very soon.

"There could be news by the end of the month.

"My agent is poised to travel to Italy and he will have discussions with the club directors. I truly hope this will be it."
