AC Milan keeps pace with Inter Milan

Milan, Italy (Sports Network) - Alexandre Pato scored two first-half goals and AC Milan defeated Atalanta 3-1 on Sunday at the San Siro to keep pace with Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan.

Pato scored in the 30th and 41st minutes and, although Ronaldinho missed a penalty in the second half, Marco Borriello followed up the miss to clinch the victory.

Inter Milan edged Udinese 3-2 on Sunday to remain four points in front. Mario Balotelli, Maicon, and Diego Milito all scored in the first half for Inter as it overcame an early goal from Udinese at the Stadio Friuli.

Antonio Di Natale converted a penalty seven minutes into the second half, but Udinese couldn't find the equalizer. Natale's goal was his Serie A-high 19th. Milito is second with 15.

Third-place Roma settled for a 2-2 draw against Napoli at San Paolo as it lost ground on the leaders. Julio Baptista and Mirko Vucinic scored early in the second half for Roma, but German Denis and Marek Hamsik scored in the final 15 minutes for sixth-place Napoli.

Palermo moved into fourth with a surprising 2-0 win over Juventus at Stadio Olimpico. Fabrizio Miccoli and Igor Budan scored after half for Palermo. Juve slipped to fifth.

Sampdoria lost ground on its chase of a European spot as it lost 1-0 to Parma. Cristian Zaccardo scored the lone goal in the 54th at Ennio Tardini.

Martins Adailton completed a hat trick in the 79th as Bologna edged Genoa 4-3 at Comunale Luigi Ferraris. David Suazo had two goals for Genoa.

Also Sunday, Emanuele Calaio and Massimo Maccarone scored in the final 12 minutes as Siena topped Livorno 2-1, and Pablo Granoche scored in the 78th to lead Chievo over Cagliari 2-1.
