Toluca tops Santos on penalties to win Clausura

Toluca, Mexico (Sports Network) - Toluca edged Santos on penalties to capture the Mexican Clausura title on Sunday.

Toluca and Santos tied the first match 2-2 and, after a 0-0 draw in the second leg through 120 minutes, the title was decided on penalty kicks.

Toluca won the shootout, 4-3, when goalie Alfredo Talavera made a save on the sixth attempt by Santos from Fernando Arce.

Toluca captured its 10th Mexican title and first since winning the Apertura in 2008.
