Toluca, Mexico (Sports Network) - Ivan Alonso notched his fourth goal of the Mexican Clausura season to help Toluca claim a 2-1 win over Tigres on Sunday.
Chilean striker Hector Mancilla gave Tigres the lead from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, but it was overturned by Toluca through Juan Jose Calderon in the 45th minute and Alonso in the 48th.
Alonso, who leads the Clausura in scoring early on, lifts Toluca into a tie with Tijuana and Santos for first place in Mexico's Primera Division as each team has seven points through their first three games.
In Sunday's other Clausura contest, Osvaldo Martinez and Andres Mendoza helped Atlante earn a 2-1 victory over Puebla with goals in the 38th minute and 70th minute.
Luis Garcia pulled back a goal for Puebla in the 72nd minute, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation strike.
