Guadalajara, Mexico (Sports Network) - Guadalajara named Ignacio Ambriz its new manager Thursday, as the former Mexican international takes charge of his third different club in his native country.
Ambriz, 46, made 64 appearances for Mexico from 1992-95 and played in all four games the 1994 World Cup. He previously coached Puebla (2002-03) and San Luis (2009-11) in Mexico, in addition to being an assistant at Osasuna and Atletico Madrid in Spain.
Ambriz replaces Fernando Quirarte, who quit Saturday after Guadalajara dropped its third straight match to open the Mexican Clausura season.
