Barca's Xavi linked with Juve switch

Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) - Barcelona midfielder Xavi is being linked with a shock switch to Juventus at the end of this season.

Claudio Ranieri's side have made an inconsistent start to the current campaign and need a new midfielder after missing out on Liverpool's Xabi Alonso earlier this year.

Ranieri did bring in Denmark international Christian Poulsen in the summer but he has struggled to find his best form and is currently injured while Cristiano Zanetti is also sidelined.

The 28-year-old Xavi's Camp Nou contract runs out in June 2010. He has made 68 appearances for Spain and was named on the Ballon d'Or 30-name shortlist earlier this month.
