Oilers place Hemsky on IR

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers placed right wing and leading scorer Ales Hemsky on injured reserve Friday.

Hemsky has missed the last five games after suffering a concussion in Edmonton's 5-2 victory over Nashville on December 28.

The former first-round pick has 10 goals and 25 assists in 34 games this season for Edmonton.

In a corresponding move, the club activated left wing Steve MacIntyre from IR. MacIntyre, who missed the previous 26 games with a fractured orbital bone, is scoreless in 10 contests this year.
