Madrid, Spain (Sports Network) - Atletico Madrid's new head coach, Quique Sanchez Flores, has vowed to do all he can to turn around the club's dismal start to the new season.
The club have won just one of their opening La Liga games, leading to the dismissal of former boss Abel Resino.
Flores said on taking charge at the Vicente Calderon: "We're here to connect with the players and the goal right now is to re-launch the team, which has enough elements to be among the best in Spain and Europe.
"I give thanks to Atletico de Madrid for displaying confidence in me and I'll admit that I'm really looking forward to coaching this team. I feel proud to belong to this organization.
"There's a lot of work to be done, such as to raise the spirits of the players, who are very good.
"I've been observing the team up until now. I've noticed that the players are very receptive, so they can make progress.
"There's no time for speeches, but plenty of time to work on the fundamental aspects of the team, which are the physical, tactical and emotional aspects."
