Keirrison makes Barca exit

Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) - Barcelona have allowed young Brazilian forward Keirrison to join Italian club Fiorentina on a long-term loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old only joined Barca last summer, but was quickly loaned out to Benfica, before agreeing to a switch to La Viola in a deal that could eventually be worth in excess of $16 million.

Fiorentina's director of sport, Pantaleo Corvino, said: "We liked Keirrison from the summer but in the end Barcelona took him.

"Knowing our interest they proposed him to us and it was an important signing, but not one that came in place of Antonio Cassano.

"We were proposed the Cassano option (by Sampdoria) last night, but Keirrison is the replacement for Adrian Mutu during his time out."
