Villarreal, Spain (Sports Network) - Villarreal and Spain winger Santiago Cazorla could be out for around two months following successful surgery on a back injury.
Chief doctor Juan Albors has reported the procedure was a success and a return to the first-team fold in six to seven weeks for the 26-year-old is likely, according to his club.
He has also been suffering with a muscle problem and a hernia injury and the decision was made to rectify the problem as he bids to make Vicente del Bosque's Spain World Cup squad this summer.
Speaking to the club's official website, Albors said: "We took the decision to operate when he injured his adductor muscle as well.
"With this process, he could be out for six or seven weeks, which coincides with the recovery time for the problem."
