Valencia's Albelda out with leg injury

Valencia, Spain (Sports Network) - Valencia defender David Albelda could be sidelined for up to four weeks after suffering a leg injury during the weekend defeat to Barcelona.

The former Spain international has already been ruled out of Thursday's Europa League encounter with Werder Bremen and is also expected to sit out at least three league fixtures.

Albelda will undergo more tests to determine the extent of the problem, but his absence could be a major problem for Los Che who are attempting to hang on to third spot in La Liga as well as progress in Europe.

Unai Emery's team have taken only one point from their last three league matches and were held to a 1-1 draw in last week's Europa League game against Werder at the Mestalla Stadium.
