Palop extends Sevilla contract

Seville, Spain (Sports Network) - Veteran Sevilla goalkeeper Andres Palop has extended his stay after penning a new contract that will keep him in Andalusia until the summer of 2013.

The 36-year-old joined the club in 2005 from La Liga rivals Valencia and he has been part of a successful squad that has won two UEFA Cups and two Copa del Reys.

"I am very happy," he said to SFC Radio. "I have always tried to do my best and I have no complaints because both the club and I have been winners."
