Atletico Madrid adds Brazilian fullback Filipe

Madrid, Spain (Sports Network) - Atletico Madrid acquired Brazilian fullback Filipe from fellow Spanish club Deportivo on Saturday in a deal reported to be worth nearly $15 million.

Filipe debuted for Brazil during 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying but broke his ankle in January and was not available for selection for the World Cup roster.

Filipe, 24, had been with Deportivo since 2006. He made 58 appearances for the senior team from 2008-10.
