Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The U.S. men's national team will be renewing its rivalry with Canada on June 3 when the two sides meet up at BMO Field in Toronto for a friendly.
The game will be part of the Centenary celebrations for the Canada Soccer Association, and serve as a tune up for both sides just prior to the start of 2014 World Cup qualifying, with the Americans opening their campaign at home against Antigua and Barbuda on June 8 while Canada travels to Cuba.
"First of all, we are honored to be chosen to be part of Canada's Centenary celebration," said U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. "This is exactly the type of challenge we are looking for as we grow the team and get ready for the start of World Cup qualifying. There is a great history in the rivalry, and Canada is a team we could see in the final round of qualifying. It's a win-win for everybody."
The U.S. is currently unbeaten against Canada in its last 14 games (8-0-6), with Canada's last win against the Americans coming in 1985.
