Boca Raton, FL (Sports Network) - Women's Professional Soccer terminated the magicJack franchise based in Boca Raton, Fla. on Thursday.
The club featured six members of the U.S. women's team that finished second in the 2011 World Cup, including star forward Abby Wambach and goalie Hope Solo.
WPS announced Thursday it had voted earlier this week to eliminate the team as conflicts with the league and magicJack owner Dan Borislow created problems in the franchise's first season in Florida.
WPS punished magicJack with a one-point deduction in the standings early last season for not meeting league standards.
Borislow purchased the former Washington Freedom franchise before last season, and relocated the club to South Florida. It is unknown if the franchise could be moved to another city, should a new owner emerge.
The club finished third in WPS last season, and won in the first round of the playoffs under player/coach Wambach.

Where the players come to play and STAY.
