Buenos Aires, Argentina (Sports Network) - When host Argentina and Sweden open their 2008 Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal on Friday, the Argentines will send out David Nalbandian against Thomas Johansson in the first rubber.
Nalbandian-Johansson will be followed by the second opening singles bout between Jose Acasuso and Swede Robin Soderling on the red clay at Estadio Parque Roca.
Saturday's doubles match is expected to pit an Argentine pairing of Nalbandian and Guillermo Canas versus a Swedish duo of Jonas Bjorkman and Robert Lindstedt, while Sunday's reverse singles currently have the former Wimbledon runner-up Nalbandian facing Soderling and Acasuso taking on the former Australian Open champion Johansson.
Argentina is captained by Alberto Mancini, while Sweden is skippered by former ATP great Mats Wilander. The Argentine squad also boasts clay-court specialist Juan Monaco.
The seven-time Davis Cup champion Swedes are 2-1 all-time versus Argentina and the two nations will meet for the third time in three years. Sweden beat the Argentines, in Sweden, in last year's best-of-five quarterfinals.
The Argentina-Sweden winner will face the Russia-Czech Republic victor in the semifinals in September.
