Casablanca, Morocco (Sports Network) - Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France was an easy second-round winner Wednesday at the $575,000 Grand Prix Hassan II tennis event.

The second-seeded Tsonga trounced Algerian wild card Lamine Ouahab 6-3, 6-2 at Complexe Sportif al Amal. Tsonga will face 2004 Casablanca champion Santiago Ventura, of Spain, in Thursday's quarterfinals. Ventura overcame German Rainer Schuettler 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 on Day 4 here.

In other second-round action, Spaniard Oscar Hernandez humbled second-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-2 and fifth-seeded Frenchman Julien Benneteau dismissed Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas 6-4, 6-4.

The other quarters will pit third-seeded Argentine Agustin Calleri against 36- year-old Moroccan wild card Younes El Aynaoui, fourth-seeded Marc Gicquel versus fellow Frenchman Gilles Simon and Benneteau against Hernandez. El Aynaoui captured his home event back in 2002.

Casablanca serves as a final tuneup for the French Open, which will get underway Sunday in Paris.
