Newport, RI (Sports Network) - Rajeev Ram and Sam Querrey set up an all- American final at the $500,000 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships after each won semifinal matchups on Saturday.
Ram, who reached the main draw only after top-seeded Mardy Fish withdrew after being summoned to the U.S. David Cup team, advanced to his first-ever ATP Tour final. He was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Belgian Olivier Rochus.
His opponent will be the third-seeded Querrey, who knocked out two-time defending champion Fabrice Santoro 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) to gain an opportunity to win his second career title.
The two players have never faced each other in an ATP match but have played on three separate occasions in other play, with Querrey holding a 2-1 edge. They last faced each other in Vancouver in 2007, with Querrey taking a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
The 2009 Newport champion will collect $79,000.
