Dementieva, Radwanska reach Istanbul final

Istanbul, Turkey (Sports Network) - Top-seeded and defending champion Elena Dementieva and second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska will square off in Saturday's final at the $200,000 Istanbul Cup, a final clay-court French Open tuneup.

The two-time Grand Slam runner-up Dementieva handled sixth-seeded Uzbekistanian Akgul Amanmuradova 6-2, 6-4, while Poland's Radwanska held off eighth-seeded Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 6-1 in Friday's semifinals. Dementieva beat France's Aravane Rezai in last year's finale here.

The 26-year-old Dementieva and 19-year-old Radwanska have split two career meetings, but the Russian is 1-0 in their lone matchup on clay, which came two years ago.

Dementieva is 9-12 in her career finals, including a win in Dubai and a loss in Berlin this year, while Radwanska is 2-0 in her career championship matches, including a victory in Pattaya City this season.

Saturday's winner will collect $30,500.
