Russia outlasts Serbia in Fed Cup quarters

Belgrade, Serbia (Sports Network) - Alisa Kleybanova and Svetlana Kuznetsova booked Russia's ticket in the Fed Cup semifinals after winning the decisive doubles rubber on Sunday.

Kleybanova defeated Ana Ivanovic in the second reverse singles rubber to level the best-of-five tie at 2-2. She then paired with Kuznetsova to post a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, who fended off Kuznetsova 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 earlier Sunday.

The Russians are 3-0 all-time against the Serbs in Fed Cup play, although the two previous meetings came when Russia was the USSR and Serbia was Yugoslavia.

Russia, which will face the United States in the next series, has won the Fed Cup four times since 2004.
