Monterrey, Mexico (Sports Network) - Second-seeded Daniela Hantuchova outlasted fourth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova in the semifinals Saturday at the $220,000 Monterrey Open.
Hantuchova of Slovakia battled from a set down to beat fellow countrywoman Cibulkova 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 on the hardcourts at Sierra Madre Tennis Club.
This will be Hantuchova's first title match since 2007, a year in which she went 2-2 in finals. The 26-year-old Hantuchova is 3-6 lifetime title bouts.
The second semifinal between third-seeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia was canceled due to rain.
Pavlyuchenkova and Sevastova will do battle on Sunday. The winner of that match will face Hantuchova in the final later that day.
This week's champion will collect $37,000.
