Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Sports Network) - Fifth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska recorded a straight-set victory over German Julia Goerges in Saturday's final at the $2 million Dubai Tennis Championships.
The Polish Radwanska beat Goerges 7-5, 6-4 to claim her first title of the year.
The 22-year-old Radwanska, who went a perfect 3-0 in a trio of finals last season, improved to 8-2 in career title matches.
Radwanska is projected to rise to a career-high fifth in the world rankings.
Goerges failed to build off her upset of former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki in Friday's semifinal action. The German fell to 2-2 in career finals.
Radwanska pasted Goerges 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth round at the Australian Open last month in their only other meeting.
With the victory, Radwanska took home $446,778.
